        In order to become a certified instructor, you must successfully complete the Level One Certification course. This course is designed to provide an in-depth knowledge of Art Clay Silver. The curriculum consists of seven different projects and covers a wide variety of techniques. Some of the techniques include use of organic forms, creating flat and round-shank rings, addition and firing of gemstones, creating a mirror finish, and much more. This course provides general and technical information, as well as some helpful teaching guidelines.

        Upon successful completion of this course, you are entitled to:

        1. 30% discount on Art Clay Silver Series products
        2. Teach Art Clay Introductory classes
        3. Take the Senior Level Certification Course

        The registration fee includes the use of all necessary tools and equipment, an instructional booklet, and a class supply kit which includes all consumable materials needed for the class projects. 

        Students should bring the following items:

        • Fine paint brushes. The following shapes and sizes are good choices.
          • Round (bristle length approx 1/2”) #10/0, #0, #1
          • Bright #4
        • Magnifying Visor if you have one.
        • Pens, pencils, paper for taking notes
        • Lunch, beverage and/or snacks for each day

        Color Exploration with Pam East

        Let’s play with color!  Learn how to make effective test strips and color swatch samples in enamel.  We’ll get to play with the full range of Thompson Enamel color, and explore different ways to combine them for new and exciting looks and effects.   No project for this one day class, just lots of fun!

          Learn Enameling on Silver Clay with Art Clay Master Pam East! This is a 4-day workshop.   We will use Art Clay Silver to create champleve pieces, and then add cloisonne elements during the enameling phase.  

          Art Clay Silver Topics will include designing for enamel, Photo-polymer, proper handling and construction techniques, firing and finishing.

          Enameling Topics include metal and enamel preparation, dealing with color reaction on silver, foils, applying wet enamels, adding cloisonne elements, Enamel firing, graduated shading techniques, and finishing.

                CHAMPLEVE AND CLOISONNE ENAMEL ON SILVER CLAY

                Learn the intricacies of enameling on your silver clay with this unique project that incorporates both champleve and cloisonne techniques.

                During the two day class you will learn how to prepare your fired silver for enamel, enamel preparation, bending and application of cloisonne wires, applying and firing enamels and finishing.

                The limited time does not allow for making the silver piece in class. Prior to class, students will receive detailed instructions for making their fired silver clay blank to bring to class with them. As an alternative, students may also choose to purchase a blank from the instructor for an additional fee. All levels are welcome in this class. Multiple design options will allow for differing skill levels.

                  Itinerary includes:

                  • Detailed introduction to new quilling curriculum and certification options;
                  • Demonstrations of and practice with new techniques and new tools;
                  • Focus throughout our time together on teaching methods and presentation;
                  • New opportunities for Art Clay and mixed media;
                  • Fabulous opportunities for peer presentations of new tools or techniques;
                  • Tips and tricks for working with a totally new Art Clay product! (Yes it's a tease, but all other information must wait until official announcements made by Aida scheduled for later this year. But we promise you'll love it!)

                  • Fee is $250 and includes all materials, use of our tools/equipment, and lunch daily. Due in full to hold seat because classes fill so fast. (refundable or transferable before September 12)

                    Let's get ready for the holidays!

                    Make unique gift items!  Learn to apply pure fine silver embellishments to ceramic ornaments and other novelties using innovative Art Clay Silver Overlay Paste.  Pre-fired and glazed ceramic pieces will be available in class.  No ceramic or silver experience required.  All levels welcome!  A materials fee of $115 is payable to the instructor in class.  The materials fee includes Silver overlay paste, silver syringe, silver clay and 3 glazed ceramic ornaments ready for embellishment.
